JVB. Founded in London 2002 by Justin Van Breda, South African born Interior Designer.
Who are we? First opening on London's Pimlico Road and with roots deep in South Africa, JVB has opened further flagship stores in Fourways and Kramerville, Johannesburg and in Cape Town. With this expansion, JVB became a family business, with Jonathan and Cilla Van Breda and James Smith heading African operations. In 2009 the London showroom of JVB has relocated to Design Centre Chelsea Harbour as of September 2009, where Nicola Barnett heads her sales team.
The JVB Pieces. The JVB Furniture Collection comprises pieces from across the globe - individually designed and curated by Justin Van Breda. What do we do? JVB Furniture Collection retails a collection of Town and Country inspired furniture while the contracts office focusses on larger manufacturing and design contracts, the most successful of which has been the furniture for the redevelopment of The Royal Hospital Chelsea, London. The JVB Interior Design office is based in London and works in England and internationally from the Caribbean to South Africa.
Justin Van Breda Cape Town born, Justin Van Breda was educated in English and Politics at Stellenbosch university before turning toward the creative world of design. He studied at Design Time School of Interior Design in Cape Town before venturing to London on what was going to be a year out. In early 1999 he started working for Nicky Haslam at NH Design and within 9 months was made Creative Director- and gone were ideas of years out. Late 2001 he returned to South Africa to curate the first JVB collection, pieces of which still form the backbone of the JVB Furniture Collection. The Southernwood, Northwind, Cape and Eltham collections followed in swift succession. JVB opened it doors on the Pimlico Road, London, September 2002 and was awarded the Future's Award at Decorex International. In 2008 Justin Van Breda took the collection home to South Africa, creating a truly family business.
JVB TOWN FINISHES
The Town Collection is manufactured in mahogany with two finishes - JVB Modern Dark (MD) and Modern Light (ML). Both the MD and ML finishes are developed specifically by JVB to ensure the pieces retain a contemporary colour tone. The MD colour is a rich deep shade of dark brown while the ML colour is a warm, bleached honey. Samples are available from JVB showrooms. Inlay and feet detailing throughout the collection is standard in mirror finish stain-less steel.
JVB COUNTRY FINISHES
The Country Collection is manufactured exclusively for JVB in reclaimed timbers, predominantly teak and mango wood. It is available in three finishes - a traditional Country Dark (CD) stain, the natural Country Light (CL) of the timbers, and also a chalky-white painted finish.

CONTRACT FURNITURE PROJECTS
JVB offers a design service for contract furniture projects; applicable for residential property developments or larger hotel or commercial projects. Here JVB works closely with developers, architects, specifiers and interior designers. This includes designing pieces to a specific brief and requirements, working through the specification and the sizes on plan, delivering renderings, drawings and finishes samples, and overseeing the complete manufacture, quality control and installation process.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Justin Van Breda runs the London based JVB Interior Design Studio as an atelier focusing on couture and bespoke interior design. Services range from complete refurbishments to house accessorising, styling and dressing for private clients. The atelier operates internationally and approaches each project with a strong sense of spatial design combined with the client's specific lifestyle requirements, implementing solutions with flair and originality.
